Rooster Waiting for a Streetcar

This 25’ x 5’ glass and ceramic tile mosaic was A City of Pittsburgh Commission for Townsend Park, in the Elliot neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The Street Car creates a colorful welcoming mosaic that serves as a metaphor of community, tying the past, present, and future of the neighborhood, and representing diversity, harmony, and alternative energy (electric transportation).
The windows have a variety of folks looking out celebrating a unique neighborhood of all age groups and ethnicities. And a colorful rooster is waiting for a ride.
