The Uptown relief sculpture/mural in Pittsburgh is a community based
public art project: the completed sculpture will be 9'x25' tall or 225 Sq. Ft.

(3.2.05) The design is first drawn out to scale by the artist.

(3.16.05) Here are the beginnings of the sculpture in clay. After this is
completed, plaster molds will be created to reproduce the finished piece
in concrete.

(4.13.05) FInishing touches are being applied to the lower portion as the
sculpture mold is starting to take shape.

(5.25.05) The middle of this 25x9 foot sculpture is coming together. The
lower forms are almost fully integrated into the piece at this stage.

(6.30.05) Detail view of the dogs from the bottom of the sculpture.
Two-thirds of the initial work for this large community sculpture is now
completed. There is still much more work to be finished before
the final installation.

(12.3.05) Plaster molds are made from the original clay sculptures.

(12.3.05) The sculptures are cast in concrete sections and are
now being cleaned up.
