2010-FALLEN HEROES, Pittsburgh, Pa. A memorial for the three slain Pittsburgh Police Officers in Stanton Heights (April 2009) sculpture and mosaic-in process.$40,000.
2009 -BLUE JEANS MOSAIC,9’x9’- American Eagle Corporate Headquarters-Pgh,Pa- $15000.

2009- BICYCLE MUSICIAN, Washington DC, Adams Morgan Neighborhood- Simon was short listed out of a poll of 150 applicants and then was the selected finalist- to design and create a sculpture including plaza design in this prominent DC neighborhood. $275,000.00 (Project on hold)

2008 -BRADDOCK MOSAIC PARK, Braddock Pa- in collaboration with Allegheny County Department of Economic Development. Designed and created by James Simon with help from the Keys AmeriCorps Braddock Youth Project. The project turns an abandoned lot into a colorful lush mosaic park with a simulated exotic pond out of ceramic and glass tiles, mosaic totem poles, trees and grasses.  $85,000.000-Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and Allegheny County 

2008-BUCKEYE TRUMPET MAN, Cleveland, Ohio
Sixteen feet tall with dog in concrete-sight specific installation
A project that turns a parking lot into a beautiful pocket park featuring Simon’s signature sculpture. In collaboration with Cleveland Public art, the Buckeye Area Development Corporation (BADC) and Park-Works.  $85,000.00

2007-WELCOME TO BRADDOCK  Braddock Pa.A a 10’x12’ Glass, and ceramic tile mosaics with dog. The greeting sign when you enter the city of Braddock Pa. $15000.00
2006 -UPTOWN RHYTHM, Pittsburgh, PA. 
10 x 25 foot painted relief sculpture cast in concrete.  Installed as part of Duquesne University’s $70 million rebuilding effort in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood.$35,000.00-Heinz and Duq.

2007 -INDUSTRIAL MUSICIANS, Uniontown, PA.
Two 15-feet sculptures of steel rod with wire mesh skin. Permanently installed as part of the main street revitalization project in downtown Uniontown.$40,000.000-Joe Hardy(84 Lumber)

2006 -LIBERTY AVENUE MUSICIANS, Pittsburgh, PA.
Three 15-foot sculptures of musicians cast in concrete. Installed in Downtown Pittsburgh’s historic district creates a spectacular landmark façade /gateway. $75,000.00 No-Wall Productions

2000-RASPBERRY ISLAND BRONZES,  St. Paul, MN. 
12 life-sized bronze sculptures of musical instruments for the Raspberry Island bandstand. Designed in collaboration with architect and sculptor Siah Armajani and commissioned by the Schubert Club.

EDUCATION

1991-1993 RESIDENCY, UNIVERSITY OF OREGON SCULPTURE DEPARTMENT, Eugene, OR. Focused on building large ceramic sculptures. Studied under Professor George Kokas. 1983-1987 SCULPTURE APPRENTICESHIP with ANDREW DIPPER, Oxford, England and Cremona, Italy. Studied carving, bronze casting, art restoration, violin making and organic chemistry under master sculptor, lutier and restorationist Andrew Dipper.
