James Simon and John Fleenor

The 2006/2007 painting has been created by local Uptown Artist John Fleenor -Inspired by Renaissance portraiture such as Raphael.
John has created a portrait of long time local Gist Street resident Antoine Lynn. Antoine was dressed up in period clothing and sat for many hours while John painted his portrait. Artist James Simon created the large frame around the painting.
The project was funded with a grant from Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts. Learn more about the "Art on Gist Street" project.
